my theory is that the "others" made Michael kill Ana Lucia b/c they saw her and sawyer...um...do the dirty...and for some reason they have to control who can and cannot have babies on the island (hence the reason they took Rousseau's baby and Claire)
obviously this isn't a big theory to the whole plot but a small portion to try and answer why michael killed ana lucia
